The Annabel Lee Drop Earrings

Poe buried Annabel Lee in a kingdom by the sea and then refused, entirely, to let the story end there, the moon still brings him dreams of her, the stars still remind him of her eyes. This earring carries the same insistence: a dark, almost black bloom, petaled like something between a flower and a wing, holds a single point of red at its center, a small garnet-toned bead swinging just beneath it, and further down, at the very end of a fine gold chain, one pale pearl catching whatever light is left.
It is a long earring, dramatic without being loud, more shadow than shine until it moves. The red reads as a single held breath of color against all that dark gold and grey.
Wear it on the kind of night you would want a poem written about you.
