D.H. Lawrence named a whole story after the smell of chrysanthemums filling a house on an ordinary, difficult evening, the flower doing more emotional work in that story than almost anything else in it. This ring keeps the beauty and leaves the difficulty behind: two full chrysanthemum blooms and their leaves, hand-carved in raised gold against a deep black enamel ground, Art Deco in its symmetry and confidence.
It sits wide and oval across the finger, substantial without being heavy, at just twenty grams. The black background makes the gold read brighter than it would against a plain metal band.
