Keats spent nearly thirty lines describing Lamia's skin before she ever becomes a woman, a gordian shape, vermilion-spotted, golden, green and blue, dissolving and brightening by turns. This ring is nearly a direct illustration of it: a coiled bronze-tone snake, its body traced in small pink pave stones, a single green stone set as its eye, and a faceted green drop hanging free just beneath, like something the serpent hasn't quite decided to let go of yet.
It sits open at the back so it adjusts easily, and the drop moves slightly with the hand, catching light differently depending on how it falls.
Wear it as the companion piece to the Lamia Serpent Earrings, or entirely on its own, it doesn't need the introduction.
