In which it seemed always afternoon, Tennyson writes of the land his sailors wash up on, seduced into a slow, dreaming stillness by the lotus growing there. This ring carries that same unhurried quality: a full lotus blossom in deep teal-blue-green enamel, gold-edged petals opening around a small cluster of gold granulation at the center, sitting on an adjustable band.
It is a big, soft, sculptural flower rather than a hard-edged stone setting, closer to wearing a small piece of watercolor than a jewel. The color reads differently depending on the light, sometimes green, sometimes nearly black-blue.
Wear it on a day you have nowhere urgent to be.
